Five new records and two new reports of Cotoneaster Medik. (Rosaceae) for the Flora of Iran

Cotoneaster Medik. is an important and taxonomically complex group due to numerous variable forms. Therefore, it interesting object for taxonomical studies. Five new records, including transcaucasicus Pojark., C. minutus G. Klotz, afghanicus aitchisonii K. Schneid., ellipticus Hort ex Loudon are identified the first time from Iran. Moreover, meyeri Pojark. insignis reported second Flora of Iran based on exact location sample collection. These taxa compared with their closest relatives. A morphological key, taxonomic treatment, color photographs, distribution map provided mentioned species. All introduced species belong Irano-Turanian region or ecotones Irano- Turanian Eurosiberian regions.
